Armenia is considered to be one of the least tax burden countries in Eastern Europe. General tax scheme in Armenia implies Value Added Tax (VAT) of 20%, Profit tax of 18% and personal income tax of 21%. 

Yet, agricultural producers with annual sales less than $220.000 are exempt of business taxes and micro businesses with annual sales less than $55.000 pay 0 business taxes along with 10$ fixed personal income tax. In case the annual sales of the business falls below $220.000 it will be entitled to work under turnover tax regime paying the only business tax of 1.5-6% from annual sales depending on the business activity. Meanwhile, IT start-ups or businesses operational in the borderline villages in Armenia may receive a range of tax breaks and priviliges. Tax reporting in Armenia is straightforward and fully digital, for most of the tax regimes it implies submission of up to 3 financial statement during the tax year.
