Mariam Mkrtchyan is an Armenian chess player, women's international master, Armenian women's champion (2022), and member of the Armenian women's chess team.

In September 2022, in the world chess championship for girls under 18 years of age, which took place in the city of Mamaia, Romania, the Armenian chess player prematurely became the world champion of chess under 18 years of age. In that championship, he showed an absolute result, winning 11 in 11 rounds and increasing his personal rating by 58.4 points. He won that title early. in the penultimate round, Mariam won the 10th victory and, collecting 10 points out of 10, secured the first place in the tournament.
