A new network of petroleum stations under the American Gulf brand will soon be launched in Armenia. Signs with the Gulf gas station logo and the words “Opening Soon” appeared in Yerevan and beyond. Gulf Oil is an international oil company founded in 1901 in the United States. It was one of the largest oil monopolies in the world in the mid-20th century and was part of the “seven sisters” (the seven largest oil companies in the world). In 1984, Gulf Oil was acquired by Chevron, which still owns the brand. The Gulf gas station network includes more than 2,500 gas stations in the United States and more than 1,000 gas stations in other countries around the world. Let us recall that another oil giant, the British-Dutch Shell, entered the Armenian market last summer. In the near future, Shell's network of gas stations will expand.
