The Solara company established a plant for the production of aluminum profiles Konstal in the territory of the Abovyan community, for which it acquired an area of ​​23,000 square meters for production activities.

The main activities are the production of aluminum frames for solar photovoltaic panels and aluminum structures for the installation of solar stations. The plant will produce also frames for aluminum doors and windows.

Investments will amount $15,000,000, as a result of which 200 jobs will be created. Most of the products will be exported to the USA, Europe, and the EAEU countries. The opening of the plant for the production of aluminum profiles is scheduled for November 2022. The plant will operate with a production capacity of 600-800 tons per month. According to the National Statistical Committee of Armenia, in general, the volume of industrial production in Armenia in January-February 2022 amounted to 365.2 million drams (in current prices), increasing by 9.7% compared to the same period in 2021.

The Solara company was founded in 2019 and is engaged in the installation of solar stations. Armenia has a large potential for solar energy (the average annual solar energy flow per 1sq m of the surface is 1,720 kWh and a quarter of the country has an annual solar energy supply of 1,850 kWh/sq m). The Government of the Republic of Armenia guarantees the purchase of the full amount of electricity produced from renewable sources within the next 20 years. Today, Armenia is building several large solar power plants with a total capacity of 400 MW.
