In 2023, the construction of the Shirak Port industrial park will begin in Gyumri. The need for the creation of industrial areas and technoparks also arose as a result of the development of Armenian-Russian relations. The establishment of joint Armenian-Russian enterprises in the field of the chemical industry, metallurgy, and high technologies is promising.

The option of creating a "land port" is being considered in Gyumri, which will be distinguished by developed transport infrastructure, including a railway. The industrial park with an area of about 400 hectares will be located close to the airport, the railway, and the "North-South" highway. It is expected that the park to be created in Gyumri will provide 3% of the RA GDP in the future.
Between the state and private sectors, 4 industrial parks will be established in the near future, in addition to Gyumri, in the cities of Abovyan, Ararat and Meghri. These industrial areas will have well-developed infrastructure, allowing investors to set up production quickly. In Abovyan, the construction works of the industrial park by the private sector have already begun. Only in the first stage, it is planned to invest about $20 000 000.
