The opening ceremony of the solar photovoltaic station «Barev Arev-1» with a capacity of 6,100 kW was held in Armenia. The station is equipped with a solar tracking system, and the rotating systems are AI-based. Compared to conventional or stationary constructions, the built-in station generates 30-40% more electricity. At a distance of 3 km from the Barev Arev-1 station, the new station of almost the same capacity «Barev Arev-2» will be installed.
In addition, Optimum Energy (owner of «Barev Arev-1») designed and built the first portable dryer for fruits and vegetables. The innovative dryer, which uses ultra-efficient environmentally friendly technologies, is also unparalleled on the international market. The dryer has been tested by Aregi, one of the leading dry fruit manufacturers in Armenia. It saves 30 to 60% more energy than the existing options. The dryer is a container with various renewable energy sources and energy-saving technologies installed. One dryer can produce from 50 to 100 tons of dried fruits per year.
This solar dryer has 3 important features:
a) Development of innovative technologies in Armenia
b) Promotion of Armenian goods;
c) The use of green technologies in production.
Armenia has a large potential for solar energy (the average annual solar energy production per 1sq.m. of the surface is 1,720 kWh/sq.m. and a quarter of the country has an annual solar energy supply of 1,850 kWh/sq.m). The Government of the Republic of Armenia guarantees the purchase of the full amount of electricity produced from renewable sources within the next 20 years. Today, Armenia is building several large solar power plants with a total capacity of 400 MW.
