Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine is one of the largest taxpayers in Armenia and the leading miner, located in the city of Kajaran. Molybdenum and copper ore are mined in the largest open pit mine in the region, and two separate concentrates of copper and molybdenum are obtained from its processing. Since October last year, the government became a co-owner of 25% of the combine.

The Zangezur copper-molybdenum combine expects a 24% increase in production this year. Moreover, the company currently has plans to process copper concentrate in Armenia and plans to create a copper smelter within 5-10 years in order to obtain products with greater added value from copper. If implemented, the project may be the largest in the history of RA independence, as a result of which the company will have greater export volumes in terms of money and will export not copper concentrate, but finished products.
