An innovative and industrial settlement "HYEPROSPECT" is planned to be built in Abovyan city and Arzni village of Kotayk’s marz under a sustainable smart community program. The draft investment program was presented by the Enterprise Armenia Foundation during a meeting with the head of the Abovyan community and representatives of the ministries of economy, as well as territorial administration and infrastructure.
The new village will have infrastructure in four main areas: innovation, training, services, and structures. At the same time, it will include residential, educational, recreational, agricultural, and green zones, as well as a production area (free economic zone and free industrial zone).
At the moment there are 3 Free Economic Zones in Armenia.: «Alliance», «Meridian» and «Megri». The Free Economic Zone «Alliance» specializes in the production and export of high-tech and innovative technologies in the fields of electronics, precision engineering, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, information technology, alternative energy, industrial design, and telecommunications. «Meridian» is specialized in jewelry, stone cutting, and watchmaking. Specialization of «Megri» FEZ is industrial and logistic: in the sphere of agriculture, manufacturing, electricity supply, trade, transportation and economy storage, professional and technical activity, culture, tourism, entertainment, and recreation.
