Thanks to its revolutionary curriculum Yerevan42 gives its students a unique opportunity to become a programming guru from scratch. 42 was founded in 2013 in France. The educational program of the center is based on the method of «friend-for-friend», thanks to which students solve real tasks, implement practical projects, manage their educational path independently, without teachers. With this method, more than 95 percent of graduates find high-paying jobs on the market. From Rio to Helsinki and Seoul, there are now more than 30 centers around the world. In 2020, Yerevan42 found its place among these cities with the mission of providing Armenia’s IT sector with highly qualified specialists.

Yerevan42 is one of the major projects of TUMO laboratories representing the educational direction of the complex are applied and engineering sciences. The complex is a state-of-the-art STEM center (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) in Yerevan. As a center of education, research and start-ups, the goal of the complex is to establish a connection between local and international representatives in this field, to reduce the gap between higher education in Armenia and business. The building, with an area of 25,000 sq.m. will be located next to the center of creative technologies TUMO on an area of 1.5 hectares.

Over the past 10 years, the IT sector in Armenia has shown unprecedented growth, recording an average annual growth of 23%. Over the past two years, more than 20 start-up companies in Armenia have together received 700 million dollars of investment. Armenian start-ups are exempt from taxes on business, and the income tax for employees is 10%. According to 2021 data, the total turnover of IT companies operating in Armenia exceeded 1 billion dollars. As of 2021, the industry employs 29,000 professionals.
