Armenia has become the most popular summer tourist destination among Russians. This is evidenced by the analysis of data on air booking, conducted by the travel planning service OneTwoTrip.

Currently, among foreign countries, Armenia (18.7% of all bookings abroad), Turkey (16%), Kyrgyzstan (14.5%), Kazakhstan (3.8%), and Greece (3.4%) are in the highest demand. The top ten also include Azerbaijan (3.3%), Tajikistan (3%), Israel (2.9%), Italy (2.4%), and Georgia (2.2%).

Ozon Travel also reported that Armenia was among the top five most popular tourist destinations for Russians during the May holidays. During the month of May, 116,000 tourists visited Armenia, which is still less than in the pre-crisis 2019, but, of course, much more than in 2020-21.

It should be noted that against the backdrop of the events in Ukraine, Armenia has become one of the most popular destinations for citizens of Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. From the end of February to April 1, 520 companies with Russian capital in the field of IT opened in Armenia. As of the end of March, 70-75 thousand people arrived in Armenia from Russia. According to unofficial data, about 4.5 thousand Russian citizens have registered accounts in Armenian banks. 938 citizens of Russia have registered IP in Armenia, another 268 - LLC.

Armenia is a favorable country for businesses as it has an access to a 1,5bln market with 0% customs duties. The country is 10th in the world on ease of starting business and 13th in the world on ease of registering property.
