German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited Tumo Berlin. So far, she has been making only a virtual tour of the center during an online conversation with Mari Lu Papazian, director of the Creative Technologies Center «TUMO». In addition, the Armenian TUMO Creative Technology Center and the KfW German Development Bank signed an agreement to open a network of TUMO and TUMO boxes in Germany based on the successful experience of the TUMO Berlin branch.

In the future, the international network TUMO in France, Russia, Albania, Ukraine, Lebanon will be replenished with centers in the USA and Portugal.

It should be noted that the history of the opening of the present center «TUMO» in Berlin began in 2018 when German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the headquarters of «TUMO» in Yerevan. The official opening of Tumo Berlin took place in January 2020, marking the beginning of the collaboration between Tumo and KfW.

Creative Technologies Center «TUMO» is a free educational center for children from 12 to 18 years, specializing in design and technology.

The Tumo Center was opened in 2011 in Yerevan. There are currently four Tumo Centers in Armenia: Yerevan, Dilijan, Gyumri, and Stepanakert. Outside Armenia, there are 7 international centers in Paris, Beirut, Moscow, Tirana, Berlin, Kyiv, and Lyon. In the near future, it is planned to open centers abroad: in California, Tokyo, and Nur Sultan.

Over the past 10 years, the IT sector in Armenia has shown unprecedented growth, recording an average annual growth of 23%. Over the past two years, more than 20 start-up companies in Armenia have together received 700 million dollars of investment. Armenian start-ups are exempt from taxes on business, and the income tax for employees is 10%. According to 2021 data, the total turnover of IT companies operating in Armenia exceeded 1 billion dollars. As of 2021, the industry employs 29,000 professionals.
